We can print as many words as you want onto your party balloons. The minimum is the birthday boy or girl's name and the date on the balloon. You might want to send out balloons with the invitation in which case you can have a longer message which gives the time and place of the service and your contact details. Some party organisers even send out printed balloons in lieu of invitations! Photos on the balloons are something different.

	We use the silkscreen printing process which guarantees a sharp image and a good density of ink – this is very important because the image is stretched thinner as the balloon inflates. If you have not seen printed balloons recently you will be amazed at how the print quality has improved.

The Environment: Environmental protestors have claimed that deflated balloons are a threat to wildlife however latex balloons are a natural product and will decompose rapidly. They are made from latex which is a resin from the rubber tree, they are not made from oil-based plastic. It is very important to use only rubber balloons, not Mylar, because these "foil" balloons do not degrade rapidly in the environment. They are a bit like plastic bags in that they will be around for a very long time. Self-sealing plastic valves must not be used in the balloons because these definitely mess up the environment - it is easy enough to tie them off by hand.

Balloon Releases

For special occasions or for the launch of a new product a massive balloon release can be an impressive sight.

A minimum of 1,000 helium-filled balloons go soaring up into the sky and are out of sight in only a few minutes. Often as many as 100,000 balloons are used and several million have been released on some occasions. If the balloons are tagged with race cards the finders of the deflated balloons can post the card back and the owner of the furthest-travelling card wins a prize.

For orders of 200 or less we can take "risks" with artwork that is not quite up to scratch. Sometimes we can retouch it ourselves or re-typeset lettering that is not satisfactory. However for larger orders the customer must supply us with high resolution finished artwork.

For one-colour printing on helium balloons this means a black positive in any of the formats listed on the left. It must be high resolution which means the file size will be 300kB or more, depending on the nature of the image. All text will be included in its correct size and location and the the image will be in black and white with no greys or half-tones.
